Lecture for World Communications Day 2011, 5th June, Ascension Sunday
A former BBC Commissioning Editor, Jacquie Hughes, has given the 2011 World Communications Day lecture at Westminster’s Allen Hall Seminary.
Jacquie has commissioned innovative series like The Monastery and The Big Silence, and in the lecture she talks about the global digital revolution.

“Anyone with something as simple as a mobile phone can broadcast anything to the world, 24/7 and the idea of ‘owning’ the story is history,” she says. “This represents a huge challenge to all of us, and one that journalists and programme makers and those in traditional media wrestle with all the time.”
