GOD, SAINTS AND A SCHOLAR

The launch and signing of a new book exploring the origins of Christianity in the North of England took place on Sunday 12th October in Pauline Books and Media at St Mary's Cathedral in Newcastle.
The book by George Thornton, local historian,author, and parishioner at St Robert's, Fenham, looks at the significance of the lives of some of our leading Northern Saints including Aidan, Cuthbert, Bede, Aelred of Rievaulx and Robert of Newminster
Supporting the book launch was Right Reverend Ambrose Griffiths O.S.B. Bishop Emeritus, Hexham and Newcastle, who has written a foreword to the book in which he says: "This book is a joy to read".
The book costs £10 and is available at Pauline Books and Media Centre. All profits from the sale of the book go to a project to provide fresh water in Uganda.
