Apostleship of the Sea - St Bede’s, Washington supports AOS
Parishioners who attend the Hunger Lunch club at St Bede’s in Washington have raised a further £500 for the Apostleship of the Sea, and this was presented to representatives of the AOS at a Friday lunch club recently.
Parishioner Frank Barrettt, who is a Volunteer Ship Visitor and also an active worker for the AOS in local parishes explained:
“We have made donations to the AOS previously, and have felt the work of supporting seafarers upon whom we rely for so many of our daily needs to be such a vital cause, that we decided to add to what had already been given.”
Tony McAvoy, AOS NE Regional Co-ordinator thanked those attending the lunch, and all parishioners who had helped to raise the money, for their efforts which are very much appreciated.
