PROGRAMME OF LECTURES AND EVENTS 2011— 2012


AGM

The Mass and A.G.M., took place at  2.15  pm and 2.45 pm  respectively on 7th September at Saint Andrew's, Worswick Street, Newcastle upon Tyne.
At the AGM, the Society marked Fr. David Milburn's 60 years of priesthood, and his contribution to the NECHS over 27 years.

 

 LECTURES

All lectures will take place on Wednesdays at 2.15 pm in the Parish Room at St. Andrew's.
The Society welcomes non-members at its lectures (fee £1)

5th Oct 2011    Fr. Michael Sharratt.  John Henry Newman, Ushaw and Ushawmen.         

2nd Nov 2011   Peter Hills.  The Widdringtons – a Northumberland Family and the 1715  Jacobite Rising.

7th Dec 2011   Anne French. Northern Catholic Families on the Grand Tour.

1st Feb 2012   John Derry. Anti-popery and the Gordon Riots.   Wednesday 1st February, the Professor Derry Lecture had to be cancelled at very short notice.

7th Mar 2012   Richard Lomas.  Subject  to be confirmed

 

EXCURSIONS

   Wednesday  June 13th  2012 - Stonyhurst
