The Mass was celebrated by Bishop Kevin and Fr David Russell, Fr Bill Bellamy and Fr Sean Conaty. In the homily Bishop Kevin said the four sisters have reponded to the call of love and during the last 50 years have put on "the clothes of love" in the living out of the charism of their founder Jeanne Jugan - a particular mission and dedication to the service of the elderly. Bishop Kevin added that here in our Diocese we have experienced the touch of that charism in the work of the Little Sisters, and in their great trust in the Lord's Providence.

The four Sisters renewed their Profession during the Mass.

The Male Voice Choir from St Joseph's Catholic Church in Birtley, in their distictive blue jerseys, led the inspiring music and singing during Mass.

After Mass the celebration continued with a friendly and relaxed get-together with Sisters, friends, supporters and guests.
