Historic Churches Committee

 

Among the Churches in our Diocese are some which are Listed Buildings.

For example the Bishop's House dates back to 1622, and the church at Esh Laude goes back to 1789. St Augustine's Church in Darlington goes back to 1825 as does St Cuthbert's Church in Durham.

St Mary's Cathedral is a Grade 1 listed church designed by A W Pugin, who also designed the Houses of Parliament and St Mary's Church in Stockton.
