A consultation and development process initiated by Bishop Seamus and the Bishop's Council is taking place in Hexham and Newcastle Diocese . February 2011 Report of the Diocesan Pastoral Council's meetings - DPC undertakes to prepare a draft of a Pastoral Plan.

February 2011 Meeting of Deans - The meeting was called to discuss ways in which we can best manage our parishes following the Council’s meeting in January.

January 2011 Bishop's Council meeting in which "important decisions about almost every aspect of diocesan life were taken and will unfold in the months ahead" including "new structures for the governance of the diocese".

January 2011 A Coordinator for Spiritual Formation has been appointed to the Diocese. Kathryn Turner has been appointed to this new role.

December 2010 Advent Days of Retreat held simultaneously in all Deaneries

Oct 2010 FAITH THAT DOES JUSTICE: BECOMING THE BODY OF CHRIST WithBill HuebschThree hundred people attend a lively day inspiring them with new ideas and resources.

June 2010 A team of invited members (strategy group)has been set up to look at all the responses and think about the next step.

June 2010 Day of conversation at Washington attanded by people, priests, councils and Bishop Seamus. This led to feedback in 3 different strands:Spiritual development - Formation for ALL - New structures

May 2010 After this was a Day of Reflection with 300 people from the diocese.

May 2010 Meeting of the Bishop and the Bishop's Council with representatives of groups in the Diocese concerned with formation.

April 2010 The starting point - Ampleforth meeting.
